Nigeria:
Young BPW Abuja, Nigeria, Mobilizes Women for Breast and Cervical Screening
Young BPW members of Abuja, Nigeria mobilized
women in two different locations of the capital city of Nigeria, Abuja
for breast and cervical cancer screening in October 2012. 117 women were
screened. Out of these, 1 was to repeat cervical screening in six
months for confirmatory result and another to go for mammography for
further investigation.
The Young BPW
were keying into BPW Nigeria’s priority focus area of WEPs 3. BPW
Nigeria is partnering with government agencies and medical teams in the
country to scale up sensitization and advocacy on breast and cervical
cancer through its clubs across the nation.
